(Season 16, Episode 21.)
Another Simpsons post.
I pondered long and hard about doing lots of different posts for the different episodes throughout the long plethora of Simpsons episodes. But it would be a pointless, because there really are too many timeless episodes.
The basic story of this episode is Bart being expelled (again) and he is sent to a Catholic school where he befriends Father Shaun, voiced by Liam Neeson. This episode reminded me of the later, and more unsuccessful episode, Pulpit Fiction.
I think I mostly remember the episode due to the dance sequence in Heaven that occurs during a dream-vision sequence of Marge’s.
I also have a feeling that the Simpsons used to be a fun, irreverent comedy that managed to put jokes in that I was surprised they could even get away with. Its been in the last few years that it seems to include more celebrity guest star voices and the product placement such as iPad and iMac. It has become a franchise in over 20 years but to be honest if they ever stopped making episodes it would be no big loss to be honest. There will be a time that they run out of jokes.
