Nanny McPhee is sent to help the Brown family – Mr Brown (Colin Firth – superb as always) and his seven disorderly children who have had seventeen different nannies. But will Nanny McPhee be different? Along the way, the children learn five lessons which makes them better children in the long run. The children are not happy about their father having to marry again, and set out to stop him from marrying the horrible Mrs Quickly (played by a fantastic Celia Imrie in sugar-popped colours, similar to that of a children’s fairytale book.) But Nanny McPhee has a plan!
A sweet, sugary little movie. Plenty of famous faces in the melee to whet the appetite, and its such a charming movie that anyone of any age will love the film. However, I don’t know how you can’t have come across this movie already.
MY RATING: 4 / 5.
