The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014).

Welcome to 2015, everyone!

This film is a cotton-sweet little romp about a concierge who has to prove his innocence after he is framed for murder.

While this film did not instantly seduce me, it still charmed me with its nonchalant comedy and acting talent.
Ralph Fiennes was perfect as M. Gustave, the concierge of the Grand Budapest. His wit was fantastic to watch, and I have personally never seen him in a comedic role. More please, Monseiur!

It was so great to see so many talented actors working together to create a great film. A facade? Yes. A piece of art? Yes. The greatest film ever? No.

It has beautiful, stunning cinematography and the hotel itself (and the surrounding scenes) are like a theatre backdrop for the action as it unfolds. I really want to watch this film again sometime.

MY RATING: ***.5 / *****
