Glenn Close has always been good in whatever role she plays. Here, her character is very introverted and clearly suffering inner turmoil and pain because it is what she has to do in order to survive.
This film says a lot about gender politics and as it turns out, Albert is not the only one dressing up as a man in order to survive and exist.
The cast is certainly an interesting mish-mash of talent. This movie fared moderately well with critics, but while it is not a stellar movie it is not without solid performances and an interesting story. It is ultimately very sad, but out of the tragedy, hope is born.
