Another smashing episode. As yet, the series hasn’t been a disappointment. Ross resolves to reopen the family mine, and Verity forms an unsuitable attachment to a sea-captain. Demelza struggles to fit in at her new home.
The episodes go from strength to strength. Even minor plot arcs are given enough importance that you actually care about what will happen to the characters involved, including Verity’s somewhat doomed romance with her sea-captain. The cinematography is also very beautiful.
People will inevitably compare the 1970s adaptation and this current one. I haven’t seen the former, but this modern adaptation has so much to offer, while I’m sure the old version had its merits too…or why else would people remember it so fondly?
