Another top-notch episode. Ross and Demelza wed, while Elizabeth gives Francis a son amidst the tragedy of family death. Ross tries to save his friend Jim from the courts after he is caught poaching.
As of yet, there have been no awful episodes. At this point, we’re only three episodes in. So.
Aidan Turner is again perfect in the lead role, and Eleanor Tomlinson’s beauty shines when compared to Heida Reid even if she is supposed to be playing a character lower in social class. The show itself is also very good at social commentary – whether it be relevant today or way back in the 18th century. The indulged nature of the rich and the downtrodden nature of the poor.
Of course Ross is going to be the superhero of the story, because seeing as he is the central character and has to be the antithesis for the cowardly, lily-livered Francis.
I can’t wait to review the other episodes in the series. The news that there is going to be a series 2 is very exciting indeed.
MY RATING: ***** / *****
