Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005)

Lovely little animated film about the familiar characters: inventor, Wallis, and his faithful dog Gromit, as they try to trap a beast which has been destroying the vegetable patches in their neighbourhood.

I have vague memories of watching this when it first came out. However, for some reason I was never an avid fan of the Wallis and Gromit films because I thought them to be for children.

How wrong I was. The film is lovely and gentle, with a gentle wit which everyone can enjoy. Even in a little film, there are some big voice talents which work well to characterize the individual roles. I love the Claymation in this film. My favourite aspect of this animation is the way they animated the rabbits.

Of course, the plot is silly and fun and not particularly taxing on the ol’ brain cells but it is still hugely enjoyable whether you’re 6 or 60. This film is like a nice warm hug.

MY RATING: ***.5 / *****
