Festive Movie Marathon (#7)

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

Christmas Carol and its derivatives is one of those films that needs no introduction. This variation of the story was one that I had not delved near previously, not due to disinclination but rather due to never quite finding the right time or mindset to watch it.

Michael Caine shines as Scrooge, and his straight acting blended with the comedic moments works wonders at effectively telling the story. This brings its own share of heartwarming moments too, and the blend of heartfelt moments and postmodern self awareness made me laugh constantly throughout the film’s runtime. The other human performers (what a sentence, hmm?) gave brilliantly engaging performances too.

Heartwarming and tender, this film is a must see this Christmas.
