In this series, we are introduced to Bert, the second oldest man in Britain who is being interviewed for a television show. Hence, we are transported back to the bygone age of pre-war Britain, a time illuminated before our eyes in tv programmes such as Downton Abbey. Well, if you wanted a ice-cream pudding with chocolate sauce that is Downton Abbey, then THE VILLAGE is not for you. This tells the story of life in a small Derbyshire village in 1914.
